The Big Blue

July 8th, 2011

Recently we watched again one of my favourite films: The Big Blue (1988). It was inspired by Jacques Mayol’s life story, who was passionate about diving and dolphins. If you share one or both passions with him, you would love to watch the film. If you prefer Hollywood-like ending go for the American version ;-) .

Power Yoga

May 21st, 2011

If you think yoga is only about relaxing you may try power yoga total body (DVD) by Rodney Yee. I’ve tried it already a few times and have to admin it is pretty demanding. The postures change frequently, some are pretty hard to keep, so after the very first time I felt my muscles the next day. :)

Some of the postures are explained in those short videos.

If you are practicing yoga for some time this DVD could be a yet another cool sequence to practice – at first with the guidance, later maybe without – which enables extending time in the postures a bit more.

Strength for Life

May 9th, 2011

In Strength for Life Shawn Phillips applies flow and body-mind connection to strength training. He builds upon his 20 years experience in meditation and weight training. It sounds like an odd combination, but why not? ;-) His approach goes beyond the body and shows how it can transform your life. His book provides a holistic approach including nutrition, training and relaxing, focus and awareness. He disproves several myths on fitness training. You can find more on his youtube channel, his webpage or inside his book.
