The origin of it is unsure: it is either a speech given by Charlie Chaplin on his 70th birthday entitled as “As I Began To Love Myself” or a poem written by Kim & Alison McMillen entitled as “When I Loved Myself Enough”.
Inspired by a talk we listen to recently, we started each morning to make a mental list of at least three things we are looking forward to enjoy on that particular day.
As it should be the first thing after waking up, it is a bit challenging to introduce this habit. We use a trick: we put a reminder text in a wake up alarm.
Another trick would be to put a reminder song as a wake up alarm, for example like this one by India Arie.
