Happy Parenting

Since the end of 2011 we are happy parents! :-)

As for now we are sure that this is one of the most significant experiences in live. And like with all significant experiences you have to make it to understand its meaning. We are at the beginning of this path and we can already see that parenting even helps us growing: being more cheerful, mindful and loving. It is simply great and fascinating! We would recommend it to everybody, especially late and aware parenting. ;-)

The only disadvantage is that we have less time for different projects. We will probably from time to time post something here – especially related to our new hobby. If you are interested in any form of contribution to the positive source we are open for any kind of co-operation.

Why are we happy?

November 15th, 2011

Daniel Gilbert (psychologist), author of Stumbling on Happiness explains why happiness is independent from life circumstances. We synthesise happiness, so we do not need to seek for natural happiness. They are of the same quality!

  • The natural happiness is what we get when we get what we wanted.
  • The synthesized happiness is what we make when we don’t get what we wanted

So what is the best for being happy? Accept the things you can not change. “The great source of both the misery and disorders of human life, seems to arise from over-rating the difference between one permanent situation and another.” Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments
