Today is my first anniversary of daily meditation practice. It was almost (92%) daily, as during the first month after the birth of our baby whenever I found a quite time I felt asleep. Before the birth it was much easier to find time for my practive, after it was possible but usually challenging. All in all I want to continue. In short: I feel calmer and more aware of my mind patterns during a meditation session and in daily life.
Today is my half year anniversary of daily meditation practice. I’ve been meditating for 183 consecutive days! Here is a interesting scientific talk by Philippe Goldin on mindfulness meditation from cognitive neuroscience perspective, among others he mentions Mindfulness-based stress reduction.
He presents several meditation techniques from concentration, to analytic-linguistic-reasoning and emptiness meditation. Mindfulness is paying attention in a particular way and on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally.
buy or look inside Today is 150th day (5 x 30 days) of my daily meditation practice. After this period of time the practice (0:30) is a fixture of every morning. To understand the meditation process and possible changes to myself I read this book (recommended by Jim, thanks!).
The book is not easy to read, but it provides a good basis and unmasks some popular myths about meditation. It helps to understand a spiritual path and typical obstacles on it. The book is not a manual how to meditate, it provides broad knowledge on spirituality.
Now I read it through, but I think I will come back to it later, after a longer meditation period.
