South Tyrol could be for sure a candidate if we consider to change a place to live. Recently, we celebrated 10th anniversary of our first visit to the Dolomites on the top of Marmolada. And it was a great feeling to see all the familiar groups of mountains around in the spectacular landscape.
Today we had a great reminder to keep our eyes open. And, in general to be open to all senses which creates a fuller image of the outer world. We flew from Innsbruck to Vienna and back in a splendid weather! We could enjoy views to the North in the morning and views to the South late afternoon. I spent almost the whole journey with my face at the window. It is always fascinating to see the Alps in the full spectrum: green hills, rocky mountains, and snow covered peaks emerging from surrounding glaciers. We saw over dozen of mountains ranges reaching up to the horizon. This video is a simulation only, but it gives a taste what it is like. (Btw. maybe you remember the music. )
The world left behind the rocky horizon seems unreal with it’s absurd problems. Here, everything takes on another meaning. The rhythm of time slows down, amazing things happen, thoughts can’t keep up with events, and words can’t keep up with thoughts…
I wrote this over 10 years ago and this is still what I feel about being in mountains. The nature and my body is my link to “be here and now”. Each time I am newly excited with the mountain experience. It is time for us to connect to the nature, step back and get a new perspective of our outer and inner world. And the most important to be together, to be here and now.
