Laughter Yoga combines Unconditional Laughter with Yogic Breathing (Pranayama). Anyone can Laugh for No Reason, without relying on humor, jokes or comedy. Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group; with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter. The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same physiological and psychological benefits.
Some time ago I started to use photos for my contacts in my mobile phone. I chose happy and smiling faces. It seems to positively influence conversations. When somebody calls me I can see immediately his or her smiling face and this makes me smile, too. As the smile triggers positive emotions I happily greet my interlocutor. In most cases the good mood is contagious.
I got so used to my smiling faces on the mobile that receiving a call from a contact without a picture looks… like a reminder: “hey, the picture is missing!”
A next extension of this is to show a happy smiling face everywhere in the virtual world. Whenever there is a need for an avatar or a profile photo just consider selecting one with a smile. People will probably react on your smiling photo just the same way as you react on theirs. And of course, even more important is to smile in the real world.
Smiling is a twofold activity: it emanates from you when you are happy and it makes you and others happy. You look and feel better when you smile, so you can easier connect to people. I keep smiling at people I know and at strangers, as it gives me positive energy. The nicest experience is when a person gives me an overwhelming smile back. You may read about the smiling experiment to see how other people feel about smiling, but the best way is to make your own smiling experiment. I wish you can’t stop the smile on your face cause you’re happy… 1, 2, 3… just smile with the Mae Shi Band!
