Power Yoga

If you think yoga is only about relaxing you may try power yoga total body (DVD) by Rodney Yee. I’ve tried it already a few times and have to admin it is pretty demanding. The postures change frequently, some are pretty hard to keep, so after the very first time I felt my muscles the next day. :)

Some of the postures are explained in those short videos.

If you are practicing yoga for some time this DVD could be a yet another cool sequence to practice – at first with the guidance, later maybe without – which enables extending time in the postures a bit more.

Disability redefined

aimeeAimee Mullins was born without fibular bones, and had both of her legs amputated below the knee when she was an infant. She learned to walk on prosthetics, then to run — competing at the national and international level as a champion sprinter, and setting world records at the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta. She never gave up, she got stronger and now she can motivate other people!
